Singapore - July 6th to 10th 2016

On July 10th, we have left Singapore…! After 3 years in the “Lion City”, our last few days have been filled with with visits to our friends and to places that have marked us: first Farrer Park, in the heart of Little India, next to our City Square Mall, Maraj and their briyani, the huge 24/24 Mustafa centre and its rooftop restaurant; Chinatown also, with its ultra-touristic area but also local enclaves, between the main street Pagoda St lined with colored shophouses selling souvenirs, and the Buddha Tooth Temple square where grandpas play chess, and where stands Chinatown Complex food court. Singapore, it is also its icon, the Marina Bay Sands, magnificent boat-shaped hotel that overlooks the bay and the futuristic Gardens by the Bay. We went to say a final goodbye to the Merlion, half lion, half fish, ate our last prata at Al Jilani, kaya toast and eggs at Ya Kun Kaya, chicken rice, fish soup, sugar cane juice, xiao long bao, butter chicken, made our last bbq in a condo, cross through Bugis district where it all started 5 years ago and that we still love so much, made a last walk in the Raffles Hotel, Orchard Road, on the Padang, on Boat Quay, and the barrage. And for the last night we went to 1-Altitude, the highest skyscraper in Singapore, to enjoy a Tiger Beer and a Singapore Sling! Bye bye Singapore, you will remain in our hearts forever!
